Dance & Movement in Schools
We here at Chris Hill Community Sports (CHCS) are very proud of Dance programmes. To date we have been lucky enough to provide dance classes in school PE lessons, extra curricular clubs, disability dance and as part of special school projects such as Zumba and parents in school days.
National Curriculum Lessons
Our superb dance staff can deliver dance and movement to all key stages across your school in PE time. All sessions are designed specifically for that Key Stage. We can also link into topics you are doing across the curriculum. Recent dance modules have included tudors, marvellous me, water, space, dinosaurs and many more. Whatever the topic our bright, qualified and enthusiastic dance coaches are full of fantastic, imaginative ideas.
After School Clubs
CHCS after School dance clubs have proved highly popular in the Buxton area. We offer a range of different styles including street dance, lyrical, modern, contemporary and much more. Your pupils can learn routines set to the latest films or music or work on more creative dancers. On request, we the dancers can put on a ‘show’ for parents or in a celebration assembly. We have also used these after school clubs to rehearse for the annual Peak Dance Festival at Buxton Opera House, where our work has received rave reviews.
Maybe your school is doing a whole school project? Let the CHCS dance team put some dance, fun and movement into this. Previous work has included work on African Days, World Water Day, Sport Relief, dancers from countries around the world, whole school Zumba and more.
In the past 2 years we have done some fantastic dance work in local schools. Involving pupils, and teachers and parents. The great thing about dance is its great way to find each and everyones imagination no matter your shape, size, age or gender.
I am very proud to say we have got boys, and girls of all ages in our partner schools up and enjoying dance. Our in school work has shown great cross curricular work into other subjects and the after school clubs are always a lot of fun and very rewarding.
